How do I bid on state and government jobs? I work for a septic and sewer company. We want to start trying to bid on government jobs in the state of California (BIG MONEY). I know our chances are good on winning for many, many reasons, but what do we do and where do we go to get started on this? Any links or phone numbers would really be helpful! Thanks in advance! P.S. I'm aware of the websites that require a subscription...I was hoping to find a government site that is free to the public

Why does the U.S. government allow no-bid contracts and should we continue them.? I'm sorry that I don't have the source for this, but I believe that Halliburton was awarded a no-bid contract for their services in Iraq. Why does the federal government allow no-bid contracts and should they be continued? Is there any advantage to allowing a no-bid contract? If so, how does it help the American people by allowing a no-bid contract? I'll give the ten points to the best answer which gives a valid reason why we should continue allowing no-bid contracts. (For those who don't know what a no-bid contract is, I believe it is when the government a contract to an individual or group/company without considering competitive bids). Thank you, Jose R for supplying the citation on Halliburton's no bid contract! There are about 4 excellent answers below. I can't decide which answer is the best, so I'm going to send this to the voters to make the decision. Excellent answers follow. NOTE TO VOTERS: please pick the answer that best explains why we use no-bid contracts rather than the one that best describes your thoughts on this issue, please!

Will Federal form of government solve the peace and order problem in our country today? The senate is more focus in digging as to who is doing wrong in the government yet until now they have not enacted any law how to correct the flaws in there Bidding Guidelines, Election guidelines etc. We, people in Mindanao expected our lawmakers for the development of our region yet it is hampered by all these noise about political and material interest of these senators, "Let those without sin cast the first stone to Magdalene"
What if there was a website where governments could post open bid contracts for jobs? And was set up to allow people and companies to bid on them online? Would this be a good way to lower costs for all government contracts spending as few tax dollars on them as possible allowing for this money to be spent on more urgent areas such as catalyzing the move towards enviromental friendliness for all countries or for the care of the poor or sick or old and infeeble or orphans, or a combination of all of them?

How to get contractor bids or involved with investors.? My husband started his own business about 2 months ago and because of the economy and season, it’s not picking up as fast as we had hoped. He is a general contractor and I wanted to know if any one knows of any websites where all it is, is local people/investors looking for contractors; i.e. needing basement finishes, painting, siding, electrical, HVAC, additions, etc. He does not want to get involved with the government bids because at this point we do not have the money to put out. Thanks!

US government foreclosure auction- just pay off the default balance and no auction process? There is a house up for formal auction through the US marshals office next Friday. The government's starting bid is $33,556 on this house. Would an interested buyer be allowed to just pay this $33,556 balance off to the government instead of going through the whole auction process? It just makes sense for the interested buyer to buy the house if all the government wants is the $33,556.

how is our government benefiting from these no bid contractors in Iraq like halliburton and blackwater? i watched the movie "iraq for sale: the war profiteers" and was wondering why is the government wasting so much money on these companies in Iraq. these companies are making billions of dollars in profit. how is the government benefiting from this it seems like these companies are the only ones benefiting because there gettin paid to do nothing yea great movie on how these selected companies get to go to iraq and make billions. its funny cuz all of the companies have some connection to famous republicans and other politicians in high power. no other companies get to compete to see who goes to Iraq because its all NO-BID contractors...means if the gov likes u , u get to go
How many bloggers are paid by the Government to do their bidding? It seems that any any criticism of Israel and the "war on turrrur" seems to draw the usual threats and abuse instead of reasoned and cogent arguments. Would would be an example of a Government Organization.? Government organizations are part of the business market. Should a contract with the government be just one sided? There are thousands of men and women that retired from the military service of our great nation that were promised free medical care and treatment for themselves and their families. Now that free Medical Care and treatment is a situation where if you don't pay you won't have medical care. I find it not fair to do the work and then the Government says we don't have a contract. The Officers and senior Noncommissioned Officers promised all enlisted and for that matter Officers as well that if we would stay in service that we would have free care for self and family. My comrades and I stayed in the service doing our country's bidding, and when have filled our side of the contract the government says that we never had a contract. Does that not qualify as a verbal contract? Besides not medical care that I was promised what am I not getting?
Whats your view on the governments bid to banning airsoft guns? my view is that it is totally stupied, because in america they have clubs dedicated to the sport! and they airsoft guns are very rarley used in crime! some ploice say what is the point ion having a airsoft gun, its not really, n that for me is procisly why i braught one because it is not realy! thais means i can have fun with my mates and no one gets seriously hurt! its stupied, because you can still by sword, kives and other dangerous weapons!!! but they are thinking of restricting or even banning airsoft guns, what is the point! i could understand if you had to get a licence for one lol but thats just another way for the government to controll and get more money! in closing i belive that it would be a stupied idea to ban the airsoft guns because it would just go underground like everything else before it, i mean if it remains legall atleast the government and police force have a better chace of controlling theme!
I won a gov bid but needs funds to deliver the product? I own a small business and recently got a government bid. I need $45K to purchase the equipment from the MFG and will get $66K in the end. I wrote "payment in advance" on the bid but the county said they pay 30 days after install. It takes 35 days sea freight to get my product, 1 week for the install and 30-45 days to get paid. I offered a friend $6K to fund the deal for me but he could not qualify for a line of credit or short term loan. I can't take out a loan because I have an SBA loan that prohibits any other loans and I have no more room on that loan to get more. I tried a funding place in Florida but they want $12K. Do I have any options for $5-6K to get funded? I have the county's contract and bid acceptance paperwork. bond amount = no A friend of mine told me to check out www.liquidcapitalcorp.com/custage so I may have a solution.

Why is there Radical Anti American Shia Clerics in the Iraq government? Muqtada al-Sadr Hojatoleslam Sayyid Muqtada al-Sadr (مقتدى الصدر Muqtadā aṣ-Ṣadr) (b. August 12, 1973) is the fourth son of the famous Iraqi Shi‘a cleric, the late Grand Ayatollah Mohammad Mohammad Sadeq al-Sadr and son-in-law of Grand Ayatollah Mohammad Baqir As-Sadr. As of early 2004, he was the de facto ruler of the Sadr City section of Baghdad and commanded the loyalty of the Mahdi Army, an Iranian-backed insurgent force making a bid for power in Iraq.[1] Clashes with U.S. forces in April were followed by a truce in June, and mixed signals from al-Sadr after his promises to disband his militia and become involved in the political process. The Coalition Provisional Authority had on several occasions threatened to arrest al-Sadr, and in early April 2004 issued an arrest warrant, alleging his involvement in a homicide. U.S. military commanders expressed an intention to "capture or kill" him. - Now he is a constant menace in Iraqs government.
In business terms, what does the phrase "bid rigging" mean? I'm reading a book in which the phrase was used to describe the Japanese word "dango," but I'm still clueless. Here's the paragraph in which it was used: "Examples of Japanese style wa abound. More candid government and company executives readily admit that dango or 'bid rigging,' is common in Japan, but to them it is just wa at work. Until foreigners began complaining about the practice, it was not considered an ethical issue. The Japanese involved were perplexed and irritated that foreigners made an issue out of it, but a few isolated complaints from outsiders are not enough to eliminate a culturally entrenched kata that serves the Japanese establishment so well." Can anyone clue me in on what he's referring to?
